What is a Proficiency Testing Scheme?
A statistical quality assurance program that enables laboratories to evaluate their performance for testing. Participants can continually monitor and compare performance by analysing their data against similar laboratories in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
What are the benefits of participating in a Proficiency Testing Scheme?
  • Provide laboratories with traceable evidence of their instruments performance
  • Enable participants to measure their performance against other laboratories
  • Provide early indications of potential problems or training requirements
Do I have to submit my results by a certain time?
Participants are required to submit their results by the 20th of each month, in the event of this not being achievable, please email sales@stanhope-seta.co.uk
What happens if my test result(s) fall outside the expected tolerances?
If a participant’s results fall outside the expected tolerances a notification email will be sent which will include a checklist of parameters that should be checked. In addition to this, technical advice will be provided by either Stanhope-Seta or a local Seta Representative. In this instance a full service may be required and a replacement test solution can be ordered from Stanhope-Seta or your local representative to assist with resolving the issues.
What does the summary report contain?
  • An overview of the PT Scheme
  • Advice on the interpretation of the statistical analysis
  • An evaluation of the findings
  • A table detailing the test data provided
  • Comments relating to statistically inconsistent data
  • Advice relating to any action required
  • A summary of the statistical analysis conducted
How will I receive the end of month summary report?
The summary report is sent to participants by email however can also be accessed online by simply logging into the PT Scheme website using their unique lab code.
How can I join a PT Scheme?
To receive a quote please email quotes@stanhope-seta.co.uk.
Upon receipt of your purchase order your account will be set up online. Your login details and unique lab code, along with further instructions, will be sent to you directly.
When can I join a PT Scheme?
Participants are able to join a scheme at any point throughout the year and will be allocated into the next available month.
How should I treat my PT Scheme sample?
The Verification Fluid should be used within four hours after the bottle has been opened, users should not shake or agitate the fluid. The samples should be stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
Are the goods classified as dangerous or hazardous?
The Verification Fluid is not classified as hazardous or dangerous. Each kit is dispatched with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Can I purchase additional samples?
